| Guangdong IVL PET Polymer Co., Ltd. is the first investment of IVL to establish its footprint in one of the largest and fastest growing markets of PET. The GIVL PET facility is located on the riverside in Kaiping City, Guangdong Province, China and has an installed capacity of 406,000 tonnes per annum. We acquired the GIVL PET facility from Guangdong Shinda UHMWPE Co., Ltd. in January 2011. The plant deploys technology from Inventa Fischer, a European technology provider, and IVL has in its portfolio plants from the same technology supplier in Lithuania and USA. The plant has its own jetty on the river for efficient logistics. The main focus will be domestic markets in China and will be used as an export base to Far East and other markets. Key raw materials PTA & MEG will be sourced from China and imports. After completion of the ongoing capacity debottlenecking which is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2012, the installed capacity of the plant will increase to 522,000 tonnes per annum. |
