Lopburi, Thailand – 23 July 2015 – Indorama Ventures has expanded its business sustainability with a new 1.25 MW solar roof in its Lopburi site. It is the largest project for self-consumption in Thailand and expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 1,100 tons of CO2 equivalent annually. However, the whole 5MW of electricity generated through solar power in the plant enables savings of approximately 4,400 tons of CO2 equivalent per year.

Dr. Atchaka Sribunruang, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Mr. Thanakom Jongjira, the Governor of Lopburi, Mr. Kriengkrai Tiennukul, Vice General Secretary of the Federation of Thai Industries, Mr. Somnuk Teangchatapun, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries of Lopburi Province and Indorama Ventures Executives have joined the project opening.

The solar project in Lopburi is one of initiatives that Indorama Ventures is undertaking with respect to environment responsibility, including its recycling business, solar panels in Germany, and a wind power plant in Lithuania. The idea of putting these solar modules on the roof is to utilize the space efficiently and to save land for other developments in the future. The Company’s commitment to clean energy is a demonstration of the progress that Indorama Ventures is making to bring the Company closer to a renewable energy future.
