Bangkok, Thailand – 18 June 2015 – Indorama Ventures PCL (“IVL”) has expanded its capability in operating its business sustainably. Its latest 1.1 MWp solar roof project received a formal approval from the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency on June 11, 2015.

This new solar roof project has been commissioned at Indorama Ventures’ Lopburi site. It has been installed on two roofs of the Petform packaging plant and one roof of Indorama Holdings warehouse, using an approximate area of 13,000 square meters. The idea of putting these solar modules on the roof is to utilize the space on the roof to its utmost benefit and to save land for other developments in the future. This project is expected to generate 1,800,000 -1,900,000 KWh per year and reduce carbon emissions by 1,000 tons of equivalent CO2 approximately.

“We have installed the largest solar roof project for self-consumption in Thailand.” says Mr. Avinash Chandra – Vice President, Projects. The average power generation is approximately 5,000 -5300 KWh per day. We expect monthly power generation of 150,000 to 160,000 KWh on an average per month from these solar modules. With this project, we can achieve a considerable saving of 650,000 – 700,000 Baht a month in our electricity bill.” Mr. Chandra said.
