As part of their study in water resources, the Faculty of Fisheries at Kasetsart University aims to develop a systematic solution for waste problems in water sources. The faculty has cooperated with other organizations in the university and in local target areas, focusing on youth and students to allow understanding of the issue from a young age. Indorama Ventures is a manufacturer and recycler of PET, operating a closed loop system for PET in Thailand following the circular economy model. A representative from the company was invited to provide knowledge on waste separation and recycling process of PET.

To raise awareness on the value of recycling PET, the Faculty of Fisheries of Kasetsart University arranged an activity for personnel and professors from the faculty. Participants were able to bring 100 PET bottles, 500ml in size, and exchange them for shirts made from 100% recycled PET fibers from the brand DEJA™, with one shirt equivalent to approximately 12 PET bottles. The event was successful with 89 attendees, the faculty was able to collect over 100 kg of PET bottles which were handed over to Indorama Ventures to be recycled at their faculty in Nakhon Pathom.
