With the Covid-19 outbreak, IVL continually responds to meet the dwindling supplies of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), by making and distributing PPEs to hospitals and medical personnel since 2020. These PPEs were made from high-quality recycled PET yarns derived from recycling PET bottles and are washable over 20 times.

IVL increased our collaboration with more than 10 partners in collecting post-consumer PET bottles. This initiative raised public awareness about PET recycling, thereby increasing IVL’s visibility and image. It also encouraged people to participate in the initiative by placing cages in department stores in several locations around Bangkok.

The success of this campaign highlights the significance of public-private collaboration in making a social impact and protecting people in the community. In 2021, IVL has supplied 4,000 PPEs to more than 10 hospitals, including 1,000 bedding sets to a few field hospitals in Thailand. The campaign also extended its help in India and Brazil, where 2,000 suits were supplied to 12 hospitals in local communities of India, and 3 medical institutions in Brazil received a supply of 1,000 PPE suits.
