Glanzstoff Bohemia in Lovosice, Czech Republic, designed a new crystallization unit that is energy efficient, with the aim of diverting the dependence on water derived from steam and rivers.

As the European Union is gearing up to reduce its environmental impact, it is adopting more sustainable and best practices across industries. Glanzstoff Bohemia Czech Republic has also designed a new crystallization unit with the latest and advanced technology such as 3D modeling (headsets), new design software, and detailed and precise engineering methods, to reduce the environmental impacts from its processes, especially its consumption of river water, energy consumption and CO2 emissions. The new technology behind the crystallization unit has successfully reduced the impacts from its processes, but also benefitted IVL by securing production of fibers and reducing its operating costs.

The project has involved employees and university students from Glanzstoff Bohemia University and resulted in knowledge sharing, educating and upskilling through technical education, and team-building activities.
