Indorama Ventures Polimeros Suape, Brazil initiated a “PET recycling project” to help children and young people in the Gaibu community during Covid-19. By earning an extra income through collecting PET bottles, the program brought benefits to the local community with a healthier, cleaner environment and improved standards of living.

The project provided a learning program to the community detailing methods to reduce waste and the techniques of waste separation, involving different types of activities. These included surf lessons, ecological trails for waste collection, and recycling educational workshops. 130 local students and youths joining this program.

This project helped with sustainable management and the protection of environmental ecosystems and aligns with Indorama Ventures’ knowledge-sharing mission about PET bottle recycling, as well as improving the community’s well-being and quality of life.
