On the 1st of July, Indorama Petrochem Limited - Rayong (PTA), Indorama Polyester Industries Public Company Limited – Rayong, and TPT Petrochemicals Public Company Limited, together with the International Interns hosted by the Human Resource department and Corporate CSR team, joined the reforestation and community forest project at Rayong.

Over 200 employees and their families were ready to get their hands dirty, armed with shovels and bags of soil, as they worked hard to sturdily plant the tree saplings in the ground.

The objective of this program is to rehabilitate degraded areas around the local community. Different kinds of perennial trees are hence planted to fill up this area, and more than 12,000 freshwater fish were released into the pond to improve its ecosystem. After 6 months, the local team will monitor tree growth and survival rates to ensure long-term success.

This is a long-term program and community management of local forests with full support from the local Thai government sector to manage and use forest areas within protected areas as the conservation boundary. The concept enables the locals to secure long-term rights to use and manage forests sustainably and maximize the benefits of these forests on their livelihoods.
