Turning waste into opportunity with student backpacks made from recycled PET bottles

On May 29–30, our Corporate CSR team and Amata Corporation hosted a special event to distribute over 200 student backpacks to two local schools in Rayong and Chonburi. The backpacks, made from recycled polyester yarn, were created as part of the "Re-No-Waste: Eco-friendly for Sustainable Future” initiative, which promotes waste separation for a cleaner community.
More than 200 students, along with 20 educators and school leaders, joined the event, where we also raised awareness about PET recycling, waste separation at source, and the circular economy.
The program aims to collect eight tons of post-consumer PET bottles, which will be transformed into 3,500 student backpacks. So far, 2.6 tons of PET have been collected from 50 companies across the AMATA network—an encouraging achievement in just five months.
This initiative highlights how we are using our capabilities and partnerships to make a positive environmental and social impact—helping shape a cleaner, more sustainable future for our communities.
