Improving vision and transforming lives through targeted community care

Our impact at Indorama Ventures extends beyond the workplace and includes the well-being of our communities. Through targeted Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, Indovinya sites in Ankleshwar have recently addressed two critical yet often overlooked challenges—access to eye care for schoolchildren and truck drivers. Both efforts reflect our commitment to well-being, safety, and inclusive development, while aligning with global sustainability goals.
Healthy Eyes, Healthy Minds: Brighter vision for a brighter future

Under the “Healthy Eyes, Healthy Minds” initiative, free eye check-ups and corrective eyeglasses were provided to children across five rural primary schools in Panoli and Ankleshwar, including Panoli, Bakrol, Bhadkodra, Sanjali, and Kapodra Primary Schools, between March 5 and 19. A total of 1,294 students were screened by qualified optometrists, revealing that 455 children (35.2%) had undetected vision impairments. For many, this was their first eye exam, uncovering issues such as myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism—conditions that could hinder learning and development if left unaddressed.
Alongside the screenings, the team also conducted awareness sessions for students and teachers on the importance of early detection and regular eye care. By ensuring timely intervention, we’re supporting children’s academic performance and self-confidence while contributing to the healthcare and well-being of the communities where we operate.
Clear Vision, Safer Roads: Improving road safety through better sight

Recognizing the vital role truck drivers play in supply chains, our “Clear Vision, Safer Roads” campaign focused on addressing vision-related risks behind the wheel to help reduce accident risks and improve overall transport safety and efficiency. Truck drivers spend long hours on the road, often navigating challenging conditions such as low light, glare, and high-speed traffic. Many suffer from uncorrected vision impairments, including blurry vision, night blindness, eye strain and fatigue, and limited access to eye care.
On March 4 and 7, mobile eye check-up stations were set up at key truck stops—Sawariya Warehouse and Sanman Hotel near Panoli—where 262 truck drivers were screened. Alarmingly, 206 of them (78.6%) were found to have undiagnosed vision impairments affecting their driving ability. Drivers received free corrective glasses on the spot, helping them experience immediate improvements in clarity and safety.
By bringing healthcare directly to them and removing barriers to care, this initiative enhances road safety, supports community health, and reflects our dedication to social responsibility in a practical, high-impact way.
Both initiatives demonstrate how responsible business practices can deliver tangible social value. Whether supporting a child’s education or improving a driver’s safety on the road, our CSR efforts reinforce Indorama Ventures’ role as a trusted partner in sustainable development. These projects also promote employee engagement, strengthen community ties. Together, we’re bringing a broader vision for community well-being and ensuring a safer, healthier future for all.
