On March 15, the Indorama Ventures team in Spain joined forces with the Algeciras City Council and fellow companies from Campo de Gibraltar to clean up along the Río de la Miel footpath. The activity was part of the “1m2 for Rivers, Lakes, and Reservoirs” campaign under the Libera Project—an initiative by Ecoembes and SEO/BirdLife, supported by the FEMP through the Network of Local Governments and Biodiversity.

Volunteers helped clear waste that threatens the river’s water quality and biodiversity, playing an important role in preserving this natural space. Fundación Adecco also joined the effort, promoting both environmental sustainability and the inclusion of people with disabilities in meaningful community projects.

This volunteer-led effort falls under the broader “1m2 for the Environment” clean-up movement, which targets different ecosystems, including beaches, forests, and waterways. Beyond removing waste, the initiative also emphasizes categorizing and analyzing debris collected to raise awareness around environmental conservation.
