Indorama Ventures Plc (IVL) supported the "2022 Circular Innovation Challenge (CIC)" for its second consecutive year. This year, more than 6 ASEAN countries participated in the program. The CIC is a "hackathon" or "design sprint" that aims to help young people become thought leaders and the change-makers of tomorrow.

The event is coordinated by The School of Global Studies at Thammasat University, with the support of – Indorama Ventures, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF), and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).

The objective is to encourage young people to learn about sustainability challenges while brainstorming ways to address them through approaches like the Circular Economy. The event was held over three weekends in workshop formats. The workshops were an intensive process where teams broke down problems, ideated potential solutions, and tested them in real or simulated environments. In addition, a mentorship session was held by industry experts providing tips on how to pitch ideas.

On July 9, 2022, Mr. Harsha Reddy, Head of Sustainability at IVL, gave the opening remarks and joined a panel discussion with other key partners and experts. He shared insightful information inspired by a Circular Economy with more than 800 participants.

Key partner representatives will judge the participants to win a total prize of 200,000 THB under two categories: Circular Economy & Social Innovation and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene.
