In 2017 Indorama Ventures PCL (IVL) launched our Recycling Education Project in Thailand where we are headquartered. Our goal is to raise awareness of waste separation and the 3Rs - Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. We are reaching tens of thousands of Thai children every year. But we want to do more.

As part of our global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) targets, education plays a vital role, making our Recycling Awareness Program critical to building shared value in communities across the globe. By empowering the next generation with the knowledge to properly separate and dispose of waste, they will know how to end waste and protect our planet. A 2019 assessment of our Recycling Education work in Thailand found that every dollar we invested generated over 5 times the value. Now we are working to scale our education project globally, with an ambitious goal to educate one million young people by 2030.

This year we entered a new partnership with the Yunus Foundation to create recycling education material for a global audience from kindergarten to college - written and tested by teachers themselves. This partnership is producing 19 content packs with different education levels for global audiences. We have an engagement plan to cooperate with the Yunus Educational network in 37 countries, 98 universities, and the 3 Zero clubs. Throughout this collaboration, we will reach 250,000 students and teachers/educators worldwide.

To ensure the packs are fit-for-purpose, independent academic experts have validated our pack development process. Following this, the materials was tested with educators in classrooms in the United Kingdom, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, the United States and Mexico.
