IVL joined the Waste Hero Alliance Steering Committee in partnership with Yunus Foundation and The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO)

The “Waste Hero Alliance” initiative was founded with the generous support of the Swedish Government, the Stockholm Environment Institute, Yunus Foundation, Indorama Ventures (IVL), and the Southeast Asian Ministers for Education Organization Regional Centre for Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and Sustainability (SEAMEO-SEP).

The Waste Hero Alliance is a multinational 3-phase dialogue event series engaging youth and informal workers in a participatory process of designing policy prototypes for inclusive circular waste management and creating a waste hero hub in 4 countries: Philippines, Bangladesh, Laos, and Thailand. The dialogue approach was started with a Social Fiction Thinkathon, followed by Policy Bootcamps and Policy Report to be presented at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in September 2022.

Mr. Colm Jordan, Global Head of Sustainability Communications & Advocacy was invited to join the Waste Hero Alliance Steering Committee to share the private sector’s perspective on building an inclusive circular economy. We are learning from young leaders and future generations, informal waste workers, and other partners.

This is a great opportunity to unlock the potential of PET plastic and share IVL's global recycling content package. This collaboration will create a powerful step forward leading to a circular economy that balances profit with people and the planet.
