Enterprise Asia invited us to submit to their annual awards - the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA). AREA are the most prominent CSR and sustainability awards for leading corporations throughout Asia, with more than 250+ companies submitting entries.

We are delighted to announce that Indorama Ventures won an award at the Asia Responsible Enterprise Award 2022 under the Circular Economy Leadership category. The award recognized our "PET Recycling to PPE suite distribution" project, implemented by the Global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team.

The project helps increase our supply chain by returning PET bottles to the recycling process. More than 14 partners from public/private organizations participated in the PET collection and waste sorting. Over 9 tons of post-consumer PET bottles were collected for recycling. This ensured more than 420,000 PET bottles were recycled through this initiative, helping reduce 14.4 tCO2e of emissions.

On top of this, Indorama Ventures supplied 8,000 reusable Personal Protection Equipment suites to 15 hospitals and medical institutions in Thailand, 11 healthcare centers in India and 5 hospitals in Brazil. Further, 1,000 antibacterial bedding sets were distributed to 2 field hospitals in Thailand.

The program creates a long-term impact on the community and the company. It also demonstrates that IVL plays a vital role in tackling the most pressing social and environmental problems. To ensure the effectiveness of the program and the monetary value invested, we assess this program by using an internationally recognized sustainability standard initiated by Social Value International. The results showed that IVL's donation of PPE suits made from recycled PET yarns outperformed its investment 7.55 times.
